What is wrong

Certain tinted windshields sold as accessories through BMW dealerships may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 205 - Glazing Materials. The windshields may contain extra tinting in certain areas, which would be contrary to the requirements of the standard and could potentially limit the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the tinted windshield with one that meets the standard's requirements.

Transport Canada lists: F650gs 2007–2012 · F700gs 2013–2017 · F800gs 2007–2017 · F800gt 2013–2017 · and 17 more

What is wrong

Certain motorcycles with dealer installed accessory turn signals may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CVMSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The size of the lens on the accessory turn signals may be too small, and therefore would not meet the requirements of the standard. This could reduce vehicle conspicuity to following and approaching road users, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the accessory turn signals with factory indicators that meet the requirements of the standard.

Transport Canada recall 2013209

14 June 2013

Transport Canada lists: F700gs 2011–2013 · F800gs 2011–2013

What is wrong

On certain motorcycles, the side stand ignition cut-off switch could loosen and become damaged. As a result, the side stand switch would fail to turn OFF the engine if the side stand is extended while a drive gear is engaged. If the motorcycle is ridden with the side stand in the down position, the stand could hit the ground during a turn, which could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install bolts to securely fasten the side stand switch (originally held by a circlip).
