1 September 2017

Transport Canada lists: F650gs 2007–2012 · F700gs 2013–2017 · F800gs 2007–2017 · F800gt 2013–2017 · and 17 more

What is wrong

Certain motorcycles with dealer installed accessory turn signals may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CVMSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The size of the lens on the accessory turn signals may be too small, and therefore would not meet the requirements of the standard. This could reduce vehicle conspicuity to following and approaching road users, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the accessory turn signals with factory indicators that meet the requirements of the standard.

Transport Canada recall 2010155

11 May 2010

Transport Canada lists: F650gs 2008–2010 · F800gs 2008–2010

What is wrong

Certain motorcycles, may have a defective chain and sprocket set. The problems are due to fluctuations in the manufacturing process of the drive chains. If the drive chain snaps the drive fails, which can lead to safety-critical riding situations. Under worst-case conditions the rear wheel might lock up if the drive chain snaps and becomes trapped between the wheel and the frame. This could lead to a loss of vehicle control and result in a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the chain and sprocket set.
