What is wrong

Certain models equipped with a tire inflator kit may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 301 – Fuel System Integrity. The company’s internal testing indicates that, under certain conditions in a rollover following a severe rear-impact crash, a sensor attached to the fuel tank may contact the rear floor panel, and possibly cause a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install a lock-ring on the fuel tank that shields the vapour pressure sensor.

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 202 - Head Restraints. The front driver and passenger seat-back recliner mechanism may have been incorrectly welded to the seat-back frame. This could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in the event of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect the front driver and passenger seats for proper welds and replace the seat-back frames as necessary.

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The headlamp lenses in these vehicles are not marked with a three-digit identifier code that provides instructions for properly aiming the headlamps, as required by the standard. Although the headlamps in these vehicles were properly aimed during assembly, if headlamp aim is affected by a crash or other incident, the headlamps may not be properly aimed in servicing. Improperly aimed headlamps may reduce night time forward visibility or increase glare for vehicles ahead, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Owners will be mailed adhesive labels with the correct marking and instructions for applying the label to the headlamp lenses. If owners are not comfortable installing the label themselves, they can take the label to a dealer for installation.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the Body Control Module (BCM) wire harness near the foot-operated parking brake may be missing tie-straps that maintain the harness routing. As a result, the wiring could become damaged if were to contact the parking brake assembly, potentially disabling the knee airbag. Failure of the knee airbag to deploy when warranted could increase the risk of injury to the driver in a frontal crash.

What the dealer will do

Dealers are to add tie straps to secure the BCM wire harness away from the foot-operated parking brake, and a second tie strap to secure the knee-airbag wire harness to the BCM harness.
