Good news: Recall repairs are almost always free. Book with any manufacturer dealer and quote the recall number. Transport Canada’s own wording is that a manufacturer “will almost always make these repairs free of charge”, so being asked to pay for recall work is unusual and worth questioning. Since 2018 the Minister of Transport can order a company to pay for repairs so owners do not bear the cost.

What is wrong

On certain motorcycles, some debris (zinc oxide) may have been left inside the fuel tank when it was made. This can contaminate the fuel and clog the fuel filter. If this happens, the engine could stall.

Why it matters

A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to drain and clean the fuel tank. The fuel filter assembly will also be replaced.

What is wrong

Certain motorcycles equipped with an accessory center stand may have hardware that was not properly manufactured. This could cause the center stand to detach from the motorcycle. If this happens while parked, the motorcycle could fall over, or if this happens while in motion, a road hazard could be created. Both of these outcomes could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the hardware that secures center stand. Note: Until recall repairs are completed, owners are advised not to use the center stand and should only use the side kickstand.
