Transport Canada recall 2020406 · manufacturer campaign MK74

31 August 2020

Transport Canada lists: Pioneer 1000 2016–2020 · Pioneer 700 2017–2020

What is wrong

On certain side-by-side UTVs, a steering joint bolt could interfere with the steering shaft. As a result, the steering joint could wear and cause a loss of steering control.

Why it matters

A loss of steering could create the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your UTV to a dealer to inspect the steering joint. Dealers will replace the lower yoke bolt and washer. If damage is found, steering joint B will also be replaced.

Transport Canada recall 2019127 · manufacturer campaign MK66

11 March 2019

Transport Canada lists: Pioneer 1000 2016–2019

What is wrong

On certain side-by-side vehicles, the accelerator pedal may not return when it is released. This would cause the throttle to remain open.

Why it matters

If the throttle sticks in the open position, it could cause a loss of control and result in a crash.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to install a new throttle pedal assembly. Note: If parts are not available, as a temporary repair, the pedal assembly will be inspected. Grease will be applied to the throttle pedal shaft if required. When replacement parts become available, these owners will be notified to bring their vehicle back to the dealer to install the new parts.

Transport Canada recall 2018455 · manufacturer campaign MK64

28 August 2018

Transport Canada lists: Pioneer 1000 2016–2018

What is wrong

On certain side-by-side ATV’s, the throttle body insulators may not have been correctly installed. In the event of an engine backfire, this could cause the throttle body to separate from the insulators. If the vehicle is operated with this condition and there is sufficient combustible debris built up on the engine, this could result in a fire creating a risk of injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect the throttle bodies and adjust as necessary.

Transport Canada recall 2018188 · manufacturer campaign MK60

18 April 2018

Transport Canada lists: Pioneer 1000 2016–2018

What is wrong

Certain side-by-side off-road vehicles may experience a single cylinder misfire. Should the vehicle continue to be driven with that condition, the increased exhaust temperature may cause the plastic muffler protector to melt and the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property would be increased.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the muffler protector with an updated part.

Transport Canada recall 2016145 · manufacturer campaign MK46

5 April 2016

Transport Canada lists: Pioneer 1000 2016

What is wrong

On certain side-by-side off-road vehicles, the front door striker plates may have insufficient weld penetration which may cause the weld(s) to fail. If the weld were to fail, the striker plate could become loose, which may result in a door opening while driving, which would increase the risk for injury to vehicle occupants, or result in damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the door strikers.
