What is wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with a 4.2 L engine, the fuel outlet flange mounted in the fuel tank could crack. If this happens, there could be a fuel odour or fuel leak at the rear of the vehicle.

Why it matters

A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.

What the dealer will do

Jaguar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the fuel outlet flange with a revised part.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag module. Note: Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace the passenger frontal airbag module before their function would be affected.

On certain vehicles, the fuel outlet flange mounted in the fuel tank could be cracked. This could result in a fuel odour or leak at the rear of the vehicle. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage.

Dealers will replace the fuel outlet mounting flange with a component of a revised design.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the Power Assisted Steering (PAS) pipes may have been manufactured using a zinc-nickel plating that does not meet the corrosion protection requirements of Jaguar's engineering specification. Over time, the PAS pipes may corrode, which could allow power steering fluid leakage. Loss of PAS fluid could cause a loss of steering power assist, which may result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Also, power steering fluid leakage may contact a hot engine or exhaust component, which could result in a fire.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replaced the PAS pipes.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine, the in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated following a vehicle start-up cycle. The engine may start and continue to operate as normal until the engine fuel demand exceeds the ability for the pump to supply sufficient fuel. The engine can then cut out without warning. Loss of propulsion, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will reprogram the Engine Control Module.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the fuel transfer pipe in the fuel tank assembly may have been kinked or over inserted into the fuel delivery module during fuel tank assembly. This could cause the vehicle to experience fuel starvation whilst indicating the presence of approximately ¼ tank of fuel on the fuel gauge. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will remove the fuel transfer pipe from the fuel delivery module, reduce the length of the pipe by 6 inches (150mm) and discard the excess pipe. The fuel transfer pipe will then be inserted into an alternative hole on top of the fuel delivery module to prevent over insertion and the tank re-assembled.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the Tire & Loading Information label contains incorrect tire inflation pressure information. The label indicates an incorrect tire inflation pressure rating of 34 psi (234 kPa) instead of 36 psi (248 kPa).

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the tire placard label.
