High Voltage

Transport Canada recall 2026196 · manufacturer campaign D126

17 April 2026

Transport Canada lists: Defender 2020–2024 · Discovery 2020–2024 · Range 2019–2024 · Evoque 2020–2023

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the DC/DC converter could fail. As a result, the 12 V battery would not charge and a red "Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected" warning message would be displayed. If this happens, and you continue to drive the vehicle, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the vehicle's lights could turn off. Note: This recall only affects certain mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV).

Why it matters

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights that don't work may make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Land Rover will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the rear doors may not latch properly when they are closed. As a result, the rear doors could open while driving.

Why it matters

A door that opens suddenly while driving could create the risk of injury and/or increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to disable the unilatch keyless vehicle (KV) entry function.

Transport Canada recall 2021533 · manufacturer campaign N630

26 August 2021

Transport Canada lists: Defender 2020–2022 · Discovery 2020–2021 · Range 2020–2022

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the passenger seat belt assemblies may contain defective automatic locking retractors (ALR). As a result, the seat belts may not properly lock to secure a child seat. Note: The vehicle's lower universal anchorage system (UAS) is not affected by this defect and may still be used to secure a child seat.

Why it matters

A seat belt that is used to secure a child restraint but is not properly locked could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

What the dealer will do

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the seat belts. They will be replaced, if necessary.

Transport Canada recall 2021102 · manufacturer campaign N556

25 February 2021

Transport Canada lists: Discovery 2018–2020 · Range 2018–2020

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, when the Automatic High Beam (AHB) system is turned on, the AHB tell-tale indicator on the instrument panel may not turn on. This could lead you to drive without knowing that high beam lights can turn on automatically. Canadian regulations require a tell-tale indicator to turn on when the automatic high beams are activated.

Why it matters

A driver that does not know that the high beam lights are turned on could create glare for other drivers and increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update vehicle software.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, an electrical overload could cause the voltage converter to short circuit. If this happens, the battery warning light will turn on in the instrument cluster.

Why it matters

A short circuit could cause overheating, smoke and create a fire risk.

What the dealer will do

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update vehicle software. The update will prevent an electrical overload failure in the DCDC converter. Land Rover recommends that all occupants, including pets, should exit the vehicle when it is parked. Additionally, you should park your vehicle outdoors, and away from other vehicles or buildings until the recall repairs are completed.
