What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a defect may cause the occupant classification system electronic control unit to shut down unexpectedly, illuminating the supplemental restraint system (SRS) warning lamp, illuminating the passenger airbag disable indicator (Evoque model vehicles only) as well as disabling the airbags and other supplemental restraint systems. This could increase the risk of injury in a crash that warrants airbag deployment and/or other supplemental restraint system function.
