Seats And Restraints

Transport Canada recall 2017033 · manufacturer campaign 342

20 January 2017

Transport Canada lists: Ghibli 2014–2017 · Levante 2014–2017 · Quattroporte 2014–2017

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the seat wiring harness layout may have been routed incorrectly during manufacturing. Through normal seat adjustment, this could cause the seat wiring harness to rub against metal points on the seat/seat frame assembly. Over time, this could lead to an inoperative seat adjustment system, and in some cases could result in an electrical short to ground between the seat wiring harness and the seat adjustment motor assembly, which could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect routing and will secure and protect the seat wiring harness, and if necessary, install a new seat wiring harness.

What is wrong

Certain vehicles may contain an engine software defect which could cause the transmission to revert back to neutral or the engine to turn off and low speeds, such as in heavy traffic conditions. This could cause a loss of motive power which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will reprogram the engine control module.
