What is wrong

On certain vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador), the bolts that attach the electric power steering assist motor to the steering gear housing may corrode and break. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. The resulting increase in steering effort could create the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the mounting bolts and apply a corrosion protection coating to the gear housing and bolts. If the bolts bolt cannot be removed, a replacement steering gear will be installed.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the flange that attaches the fuel filter to the tank could eventually develop a crack and allow fuel to leak. Although any such leakage would be in an area where vehicle temperatures are too low for ignition, fuel leakage, in the presence of an external ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel filter.
