What is wrong

On certain diesel-powered vehicles, the fuel pump may not have been properly installed in the fuel tank. As a result, a fuel leak could occur.

Why it matters

A diesel fuel leak on the roadway could create a hazard for other road users by making the road slippery.

What the dealer will do

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the lock on the fuel pump mount. If necessary, it will be locked correctly.

On certain vans, the upper hood latch may not be properly installed. Under some driving conditions, this could allow the hood to open suddenly while driving.

Why it matters

If the hood opens while driving, it could suddenly block a driver's view. This could increase the risk of a crash.

What is wrong

Certain vans were built with the wrong type of glass in one or both of the rear-side windows. Tempered glass was used in place of laminated glass. As a result, the vehicles may not meet the ejection mitigation requirements of the Canadian regulations.

Why it matters

Vans built with incorrect side window glass could create a risk of ejection and injury in a rollover or side-impact crash.

What is wrong

A software problem could make it impossible to turn off the high-beam headlights using the switch lever. This problem only affects certain vans with the high-beam assist option. Note: If this happens, the high-beams can be turned off by turning the headlight switch from the "automatic headlights" position to the "manual headlights" position, or by re-starting the van.

Why it matters

High-beam lights that stay on could cause glare and reduce visibility for oncoming traffic. This could increase the risk of a crash.

The headlight range adjustment sensor on certain vans equipped with LED high performance headlights may not have been installed or not have been calibrated correctly. This could cause the automatic headlights not to adjust properly.
