15 March 2021

Transport Canada lists: R 2016–2021

What is wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with a carbon fiber trunk, the emergency trunk release was not installed inside the trunk. This could prevent a person that is trapped inside the trunk from opening it.

Why it matters

If a person is closed inside the trunk, they may not be able to get out. This could create a risk of injury.

What the dealer will do

Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install the trunk release mechanism.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the rear view camera system does not return to the default setting when the transmission is shifted to reverse. This could cause a reduction in rear visibility if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display. Canadian regulations require that the rear view image returns to its original setting each time the camera is turned on.

Why it matters

Reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rear view camera.
