What is wrong

On certain trucks, the fasteners that secure the steering arms to the steering knuckles may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the steering arms could loosen and cause a loss of steering control.

Why it matters

A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the fasteners for the steering arms. The dealer will also replace any damaged components, as necessary.

To reduce the safety risk, Volvo Trucks advises you not to drive your truck until the recall repairs have been completed. Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealership to arrange for an inspection of the wheels and hubs. Any damaged parts will be replaced.

What is wrong

On certain trucks, the connector(s) for the rear brake modulator(s) may not have proper wiring protection. As a result, the rear brake modulator(s) could short circuit and cause a loss of antilock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC).

Why it matters

A loss of ABS and ESC could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear brake modulator(s). The dealer will also install a cover on the connector(s).

On certain trucks, the automatic high beams may not switch to low beams automatically. As a result, the trucks may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations.
