Hand-maintained annual averages, not a live feed. Electricity is all-in residential (energy + delivery + regulatory riders); gasoline is regular grade. Override them with your own numbers in any tool. Grid intensities are CER’s 2022 figures, one citation per jurisdiction. These are average residential rates. A car’s charging is added on top of what your home already uses, so on a tiered, time-of-use or subsidised tariff it is billed at your top rate rather than this average — which makes the real cost higher, especially in the territories. Enter your own rate for an accurate figure. Grid intensities measure the emissions of generating each province’s own electricity. Where a province imports much of its power — PEI above all — what a car actually charges on is partly its neighbour’s grid, at its neighbour’s intensity.
