What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the attachment points for the lower universal anchorage system (for attaching a child seat) could be damaged over time. As a result, a child seat may come loose.

Why it matters

A child seat that is not properly secured could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.

BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to add a reinforcing bracket to the lower anchor bars and the vehicle body.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the pivot bolt used on the rear upper control arms could break. If this occurs, it could affect vehicle handling, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the wheel bolts may not have been properly tightened. This could cause a wheel could become loose and fall off the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. In addition, the wheel assembly could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing injury and/or property damage.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will replace the wheel bolts and tighten them to specification.
