What is wrong

On certain vehicles, a problem in the transmission could cause a loss of power to the drive wheels. Note: This problem affects vehicles equipped with a 5R110W transmission and 5.4 L engine.

Why it matters

A loss of power to the drive wheels could increase the risk of a crash. For an ambulance, a loss of power could also cause a delay in patient care.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to replace the defective transmission parts.
