What is wrong

This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Why it matters

Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019. This information is printed on the bottom corner of the glass. Consumers should contact Vitro's customer service at 1-412-995-6457 or argbacklites@vitro.com to arrange for replacement of the glass.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the parking brake connector clip may be out of hardness specification and could fracture when the parking brake lever is applied. This could result in unintended vehicle movement if the vehicle’s transmission is not in the PARK gear position, or if the vehicle is not equipped with a transmission having a PARK position. Unintended vehicle movement could result in injury and/or property damage.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install a revised parking brake cable connector clip.

What is wrong

Certain vehicles equipped with a 70/30 fixed passenger bench seat may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 210 – Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages. The floor attachment locations for the 70% front passenger and center seat belt anchorages are outside of the parameters specified by the Standard. An improperly positioned seat belt anchorage may reduce the seat belt’s ability to properly restrain the occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury.

What the dealer will do

Dealers will install safety restraint anchorage point relocation bracket kits.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins ISB or ISL engines, the fuel filter shell and nut plate could separate, causing a fuel leak and also causing the engine to stall. Stalling would result in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property.

What the dealer will do

Cummins-authorized dealers will replace the fuel filter.
