What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 20S21 (Transport Canada recall no. 2020-203) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles, there is a problem with the warnings to tell a driver that the transmission is not in Park. When the ignition is turned off, with the driver door closed, the message and chime to warn that the transmission is not in Park are only active for 3 seconds. Instead, the chime should sound for 10 seconds and the message should display for 30 minutes. As a result, a driver could exit the vehicle without realizing that the transmission is not in Park. If this happens, the vehicle could roll away.

Unintended vehicle movement could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the instrument panel cluster.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 23C35 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-587) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the low brake fluid warning lamp not to turn on if the brake fluid level gets too low. What is wrong

Under certain conditions, the powertrain control module (PCM) may incorrectly detect a fault in the transmission. If this happens, the reverse camera, reverse lamps, and different driver assistance technologies may not work properly. This includes traction control, forward collision warning, blind spot warning, and cross traffic indicator. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 5.0 L engine and a manual transmission.

Why it matters

Reverse lamps that don't turn on could cause others not to recognize when a vehicle is backing up. A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. What is wrong

On certain vehicles, there is a problem with the warnings to tell a driver that the transmission is not in Park.
