Transport Canada recall 2026226 · manufacturer campaign N262557620/N262557621
7 May 2026
Transport Canada lists: Silverado 2026 · Sierra 2026
What is wrong
This recall is for certain transfer case assemblies installed during production on certain new vehicles or sold as a replacement part. On a small number of trucks, the transfer case assembly may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the transfer case could fail and cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up while driving. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). This recall affects transfer case part number 87842227.
Why it matters
Front and/or rear wheels that lock suddenly could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
What the dealer will do
To reduce the safety risk, General Motors advises you not to drive your truck until the recall repairs have been completed. General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealership to arrange for an inspection and, if necessary, a transfer case assembly replacement.
