Recalls

Good news: Recall repairs are almost always free. Book with any manufacturer dealer and quote the recall number. Transport Canada’s own wording is that a manufacturer “will almost always make these repairs free of charge”, so being asked to pay for recall work is unusual and worth questioning. Since 2018 the Minister of Transport can order a company to pay for repairs so owners do not bear the cost.

Transport Canada recall 2023017 · manufacturer campaign V2301

23 January 2023

Transport Canada lists: NRR 2022–2023

What is wrong

On certain trucks, the antilock braking system (ABS) module and, if equipped, the optional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) camera may not have been recalibrated after a modification to extend the truck frame. As a result, some vehicle safety systems may not work properly. This can include the automatic emergency braking system (AEBS), adaptative cruise control (ACC) and electronic stability control (ESC). Note: This recall only affects trucks with a 200" or 212" wheelbase.

Why it matters

Vehicle safety systems that do not work correctly could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Isuzu will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a dealership to recalibrate the ABS module and, if equipped, the ADAS camera.

Engine

Transport Canada recall 2022324 · manufacturer campaign V2202

17 June 2022

Transport Canada lists: NRR 2022

What is wrong

On certain trucks equipped with a gasoline engine, the connector for the oil pressure sensor was wired incorrectly. As a result, the oil pressure warning light will not turn on when the engine oil pressure is low. Operating the engine with low oil pressure could cause damage or an engine failure.

Why it matters

A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Isuzu will notify owners by mail. For unsold trucks, an Isuzu dealer will repair the engine harness wiring assembly connector before it is sold. For vehicles that have been sold, the corrective actions are still under development.

Source: Transport Canada — Vehicle Recalls Database; NRCan — Fuel consumption ratings. Data current as of 6 August 2026. Running cost uses Ontario average prices (155 ¢/L, 14.5 ¢/kWh), which are hand-maintained estimates. These are average residential rates. A car’s charging is added on top of what your home already uses, so on a tiered, time-of-use or subsidised tariff it is billed at your top rate rather than this average — which makes the real cost higher, especially in the territories.
