What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 19C03 (Transport Canada recall no. 2019-064) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument panel cluster screen not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the gear selection, speedometer, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales.

Why it matters

Warnings, gauges, gear selection and tell-tales indicators that don't display could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster software.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 19S02 (Transport Canada recall no. 2019-017) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles, the lane center assist system may not recognize when hands are removed from the steering wheel. As a result, the hands-off steering wheel warning may not be displayed.

A hands-off steering wheel warning that doesn't display could increase the risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the power steering control module software.

What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the instrument cluster may be blank upon start-up. If this happens, the driver would not be provided with information and warnings about vehicle systems.

Why it matters

If the driver is not provided with information about the vehicle’s systems, there could be an increased risk of a crash.

What the dealer will do

The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the instrument cluster display reprogrammed.
